We got this tester so we can be sure of the voltage on our pig pen wire. This has worked great so far and the price was reasonable for us not want I g anything too fancy. We can see the lights just fine on this. As with anything electronic in the sun it will be a bit hard to see but doesn't take away from the functionality of it. Just shade it if you need to. I would recommend this tester.

We use it to measure fencing around out pastures and garden. Handy to be able to hang it on the fence rather than trying to hold it against the fence like others.
You need to hold it away from sun or block the sunlight so you can see the lights.
